When I was a young kid, My pops was locked up
I was so broken inside, Ain't have no man in my home
My momma was young but still had to raise four kids on her own
So many nights we cried ourselves to sleep, We was feelin alone
I was waiting for him to return, It felt way too long
I remember them tears I cried everytime I would hang up the phone

She started praying to God and that's what kept her strong
When she prayed to God, He was there for her
So I grew up going to church
I would pray everyday for my pops to come home but it felt like it never worked
On the outside I looked clean but inside of my heart I was so full of dirt
My lust kept on getting worse, started walking in the family curse
As a young child I was molested, that lust in my heart started spreading
Inside I was fighting rejection, so I did anything to be accepted
I thought the world had more for me so I turned my back on the church and I left it
I thought the church was boring
Started exploring and hell was where I was headed
I let the lust take over me, there was so many hearts that I was hurtin
I ain't know where to go or what to do, Ain't know my purpose
I was so uncertain
Started playin sports and playin the streets
Gettin money, I was searchin
My momma was just tryna tell me to do the right thing but I wouldn't listen
I was young and dumb and tryna have fun
It felt good to keep on sinnin
I ain't afraid to admit it
Deep down it wasn't fulfilling
I felt like I had a hole in my heart and there's nothing I could do to fill it
I was smokin and drinkin and poppin them pills
I ain't like how I was livin
At first I was doing it just to have fun
Then I was really addicted
Everyday I was in the casino, I was addicted to betting
I was deceived
I thought I'd just say a little prayer and I would still make it to Heaven
I wasn't repenting, my life was depressing
Demon oppression, cause I ain't have His presence
Then I got in a accident
I remember being in my room thinking like bro what's happenin
Oh I know I needed change but I ain't know which way to go
My Titi told me how God set her free and it really gave me hope
So I called on Jesus' name and He came and saved my soul
Jesus saved me, changed me
Now He's just livin inside and He's helpin me grow
I never thought I'd be His soldier
Never thought I would be sober
I was just heading to hell
If I would've died, it would've been over
I had a case with God cause all of my sin
But He threw out the folder
Never thought I'd be close to God
But we gettin closer
I remember comin back to the church with a tear in my eye
Still tryna act tough
All I needed was a touch from Him and I found out His love is enough
I felt the presence of God that day so I really got baptized
Now I'm in the Word everyday I gotta keep my eyes on Him
I cannot go back to sin again I fell in love with His commands
I can't build house on the sand He's teachin me to be a man
Now I know who I am, Thank God for the Blood of the Lamb
One day I'll be gone but ima be in the Promise Land
